Riding the "col" routes through the Pyrenees is never short of stunning. Alan
A very nice ride up the slopes until the last section which is twisty but rewarding. views at the top are spectacular, take a break you earned it
Im a big fan of scenery so this really rang my bell so to speak. Stunning going up and stunning down the other side too. Its a long gradual climb out of St Marie until you get close to the top and then it gets steep. How the guys on bicycles do it is just mind boggling! The surface is not much better than average but who cares with this kind of backdrop. Stop at the top for a cuppa and a bite, and watch the vultures mixing it with the gliders. You can walk up to the observatory from here but I wouldnt recommend it in your biker gear - youd melt! If youre in the Pyrenees this is definetely worth a look, and we had blistering weather too.
Brilliant biking road.....I often ride it just for the fun as I live close by...just watch out for the Tourmalet lamas and the usual gravel on the road
Can't say anything about this famous road. The fog didn't let us enjoy either the road or the view :( Just adding some foggy photos…
