This road is guilty as charged. Don't miss it. An alternative if you need to head north is to follow the D5 from Col de Butel and head up over Col D'Aspet - which is brilliant but not as good as this one.
fantastic scenery, horses, cows, mountains, grass , cold beer, and hot goats cheese, breathtaking , i'm gonna have my ashes scattered here.........not yet tho' roads don't have to be super fast to be fun..........get the twisties right....and its magic! take it all in........breath deep and grin... grin factor 100%
This is a lovely quiet route in The foothills of the Pyrenees. Great wooded sections and quiet villages and very little traffic. Take your time and take in the views. goes up to a low pass with spectacular views of the distant mountains. Worth carrying on the D618 to Tarascon if you are going that way.
