Stop at Hofstadt Observatory for an amazing lunch on their deck. The view is amazing and the food is awesome. The elk burger is a favorite. They open in early April.
The ride parallels the Toutle River, and the destruction from the volcano eruption in 1980 is still evident. And, even though I know it´s coming, everytime I come around this one corner and see Mt. St. Helen´s for the first time looming in front of me... My heart still skips a beat.
